Build Night was Bumpin'!

Build Night at the Coven was pretty fun tonight, albeit, a bit crowded.

Nevertheless, everyone was warm and friendly, and they all found space to work on their projects.

I had the pleasure of speaking with some folks, and took delight in hearing a couple of their stories. Namely, how they heard about Bikes del Pueblo, and what brought them to Build Night.

I met a visiting PhD student from University of Michigan, he was actually a few hours away from boarding a plane back to Ann Arbor.

Thanks for spending your last hours in San Diego with us!

I also spoke with an incoming 8th grader at the local Clark Middle School who was interested in building a road bike.  He said it was difficult for him to bike up hills with his fixed gear.

Can't wait to see him conquer all of those hills pretty soon on his new roadbike!

BdP members were cool, calm, and collected, as a steady stream of people trickled down to the basement.

In between all of this activity, we managed to find time to discuss the next steps of our year long project with the San Diego Foundation - Great Neighborhood Challenge.

See this post back in June 2014 that explains more about this project!

Bikes del Pueblo will be using the rest of the funds to better our services - details will be listed in a later post.

Bikes del Pueblo is growing, that is for sure.
